The total number of Greene County events at the state track and field meet in Des Moines later this week grew to 18 after at-large positions were filled. Fifteen Greene County events were automatic qualifiers after finishing first or second at the state qualifying meet in Atlantic last Thursday.
Added to the state roster are Eme Johnson, Hannah Onken and the 4 X 400 meter relay team.
Johnson will run in the 100 meter hurdles. Her fourth place finish in 16.18 earned her the right to compete against teammate Kate Sandage, who was champion at the state qualifying meet.
The 4 X 400 meter relay team placed third in Atlantic with a time of 4:19.95 to earn an at-large bid. Runners were Olivia Hansen, Emma Saddoris, Emily Chrisensen and Johnson.
Hannah Onken’s sixth place finish in the discus with a throw of 113′ 10″ earned her an invitation to the state meet.
